Helping Children Make a Difference for Bees

BeeBombs4Schools (BB4S) is an educational initiative from The British Bee Charity, helping children across the UK discover the importance of bees and other pollinators and learn how they can play their part in protecting them.

Our aim is to inspire the next generation to care for nature, understand the importance of biodiversity and recognise the vital role that bees and other pollinators play in our food production and natural environment.

What Will Your School Receive?

The scheme is open to junior schools throughout the UK. Participating schools will receive a free educational pack, together with BeeBombs — native wildflower seedballs, handmade in Dorset.

The educational pack includes a PowerPoint presentation, complete with teachers’ notes, designed to help you introduce pupils to the fascinating world of bees and other pollinators. It explains the challenges they face, why they are so important to our environment and food supply, and the simple, practical steps we can all take to help them thrive.

One of the easiest ways to make a difference is by providing more pollinator-friendly flowers. Children can plant their BeeBombs at school or take them home to create their own little patches of wildflowers, providing valuable sources of food for bees and other pollinators.

Packs are limited, so we encourage schools to apply early to avoid disappointment.
