What We Do
Grants to Schools
The British Bee Charity supports schools across the UK through our BeeBombs4Schools and Bees4Schools schemes. We provide free educational resources, wildflower seed bombs and grants for bees, beehives, bee suits and essential equipment, helping children learn about bees, understand their importance and discover how they can protect pollinators for the future.
Talks & Educational Visits
Whether you’re part of a local society or community group, organise activities for Scouts, Guides or Brownies, or are a teacher looking to inspire your pupils, The British Bee Charity has something to offer!
Get in touch to find out more about our engaging talks, hands-on educational workshops and exciting visits featuring LIVE BEES — a wonderful opportunity to discover the fascinating world of bees and learn why they are so important to our environment.
Subsidised Training
The British Bee Charity subsidises its beekeeper training courses to make learning this fascinating and rewarding skill more affordable and accessible. Our courses combine expert tuition with hands-on experience, helping more people discover the joys of beekeeping and understand how to care for these essential pollinators.
Adopt a Hive
Since 2017, our work to support honey bees and make a positive difference in the wider community has only been possible thanks to the wonderful support of people just like you.
Our Adopt a Hive Scheme is a unique and meaningful way to show your support while enjoying a little bee-inspired magic along the way. Whether you’re looking for a special gift for a friend or family member, or simply want to do something wonderful for yourself, adopting a hive is a gift that keeps on giving – to you, to our bees and to the wider community. 🐝💛
Educational Grants
Bees4Schools
Schools with a suitable, secure and safe location for a working beehive can take learning beyond the classroom and give children a unique, hands-on educational experience. Through our Bees4Schools grant scheme, pupils can discover the fascinating inner workings of a hive, learn how bees live and work together, understand the life cycle of a bee and explore how honey is produced.
Having a working hive at school provides an exciting opportunity to bring science and nature to life, helping children understand the vital role bees play in pollination and food production. They will also learn about the environmental challenges facing bees and other pollinators, and what we can all do to help protect them for the future.

BeeBombs4Schools
Inspiring the Next Generation
Through our BeeBombs4Schools (BB4S) initiative, The British Bee Charity is helping thousands of children across the UK discover the importance of bees and other pollinators.
We provide schools with a free educational pack and BeeBombs — handmade wildflower seedballs from Dorset, containing native wildflower seeds to help create beautiful, pollinator-friendly habitats.
Our aim is to inspire children to learn about nature and encourage them to take action to protect bees and other pollinators for the future.
